ASUS TUF is the ultimate powerhouse laptop that is targeted towards the budget Ubuntu audience. We have it as the best Ubuntu laptop overall because it’s superfast, comes with a huge storage size and has a substantial amount of memory that brings a premium feel with great performance.

Performance

Everyone deserves a powerful and a reliable PC and ASUS TUF ensures that essential sets of  features are delivered so you can get a pleasant Ubuntu usage experience.

We are certain that it has an exceptionally high performance to run Ubuntu OS because it comes with a high-end 4GHz Quad core AMD Ryzen 7 3750H Processor which  can stand the test of time to run Ubuntu and other linux applications.

Superbly gared for gaming and durability, this machine is undoubtedly the best gaming laptop in town. It is fully equipped with a 16GB RAM and a sufficiently powerful 256GB PCIe SSD for high speed data transfer. To cast up, it has a 1TB HDD which is just enough for massive file/data storage.

Portability

ASUS has done a great job to understand what Linux gamers needed and created the ASUS TUF laptop accordingly. A lot of care and caution has been put into its general design and not only is it a fast, fluid, and action-packed laptop, it passes all portability checks weighing a standard 4.85 lbs.

It has a thickness of 1.02 inches which is pretty perfect to carry and fit in standard backpacks.

Most linux supported laptops are famous for having great battery life and the TUF is no exception. It has a superior power-efficient battery of 48 Whr for a much more sustaining battery life. This can help you to handle desk-bound tasks on battery for about 5 to 6 hours.

Display

Moving on, ASUS TUF performs extraordinarily well when it comes to its general display design. Armed for combat, this fancy laptop has a NanoEdge display with narrow bezel IPS-Type for a much more compact package and more display area. Even more, it has a 15.6 inches screen screen size which is perfect for watching.

There is no reason for you to settle for a less-stellar display because the ASUS TUF features a 1820 x 1060 pixels screen resolution and GeForce GTX 16-Series graphics card for a more improved and smooth viewing experience.

Other Consideration

It’s a blessing to see that ASUS TUF is equipped with a full-size keyboard that is well spaced out.

We were amazed by the fact that the keyboard has a customizable RGB backlight and that it can live through 20 million key presses meaning that it will take a hefty amount of time until you replace it.

Apart from that, the company managed to fit in a centrally placed and  an adequately sized trackpad. The touchpad uses Ubuntu precision drivers to make it responsive to commands and gestures seamlessly.

Finally, ASUS TUF comes with numerous connectivity options. It has 3 USB ports, one USB port 2.0 and two USB ports 3.0. On top of that, it supports wireless connectivity such as Wifi 802.11ac and Bluetooth.

Bottom Line

Considering everything, the ASUS TUF has its pros and cons. However, it is perfectly suitable for anyone who is into Linux operating systems as it packs on some of the best features for consistent performance. It has a pretty sharp display (even though it is small) you can enjoy watching HD videos and graphics while streaming.

  • LG Gram has a powerful and stable processor for Ubuntu
  • It has an excellent battery life
  • Has a beautiful, bright, full HD IPS display
Cons
  • No optical drive
  • Low storage space

For many of us, a lightweight full HD laptop with all capabilities to run Linux OS such as Ubuntu is the best option. LG Gram is a decent machine that gives the best overall performance and stunning user experience as it features extra cores to improve speed drastically.

Performance

This PC may not be the fastest laptop we’ve tested but it has a 10th Generation Intel Core i71065G7 Processor that offers a solid  mainstream performance when running Ubuntu and Linux applications.

The 1.30GHz CPU speed is another key spec that’s worth calling out. It might seem to be low but it is a dependable workhorse when it comes to performing daily computing tasks and executing CPU-intensive chores like launching Ubuntu.

On top of that, we also liked the gorgeous 16GB memory as it is just perfect for smooth multitasking. The roomy 512GB SSD means that you have enough space for dual booting.

Portability

Not much can be said about LG Gram’s portability as it exceeded our expectations. We thought we’d meet a huge laptop that’s heavy and large in size but we met a masterpiece with an ultra slim outlook that is not only durable, but also boosts a long lasting battery.

This machine weighs only 2.20 lbs and 12.70 x 8.30 x 0.70 inches as the item dimensions. Its thickness is only 0.70 inches which is quite portable either in your hand or in small bugs.

One networthy thing we liked about this machine is that its lightweight chassis houses a battery with spectacular longevity. They managed to cram in a battery that can serve you for 18.5hours if you’re running less power-sensitive applications.

Display

This outstanding creation comes with smooth edges, a 14 inches HD IPS integrated display which is just a brilliant touch of elegance. Its corning glass protected display has a pleasing 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution to give the best display experience both indoors and outdoors in direct sunlight.

What’s more?

The Iris Plus graphics card brightens up everything to give razor-sharp images.

Other Consideration

Honestly, with such a slim build, there’s not a lot of room for connections and ports. However, it has satisfactory connectivity options including Thunderbolt 3, two USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth, HDMI, Micro SD card reader, a noble lock slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack which will suffice for most needs.

Despite not having a dedicated number pad, LG Gram’s backlit keyboard is springy, comfortable, well spaced, has clicky feedback and is very soft to touch. Its smooth and responsive touchpad is small enough and generally comfortable. We had no problems using the glass touchpad and executing Ubuntu gestures like pinch-to-zoom and two-finger scrolling.

It comes with Windows 10 (64 bit) as the primary pre-installed operating system. But, since it supersedes the minimal requirements for Ubuntu installation, no frustrations will be encountered when installing it.

Bottom Line

This is a heavyweight laptop that has the power to do literally anything and the portability to be carried and used anywhere. Whether you want it to be a working, video editing, designing, or a gaming PC, it has a cutting-edge Intel processor, so much battery life and memory to handle such needs.

One more thing we liked about the E15 is that it comes with a fingerprint reader for maximum security. Using it ensures your sensitive files and information are kept safe by making sure that nobody else accesses them apart from you.

Bottom Line

From the look of thighs, the E15 is already amazing from every angle because it prioritizes functions over fashion. Considering the features we’ve described above, it makes a perfect laptop for remote work, students who carry out eLearning and commercial enterprises not to forget.

It also comes with an  8GB memory that is expandable to ensure a coherent multitasking session and a 256GB solid state drive to help you store important files in one place. We believe that’s plenty for a laptop under $700.

We’ve listed it in these 10 best Ubuntu laptop because it partners with several Linux developers like Red Hat, SuSE, and Ubuntu. For that, you can be sure that you won’t encounter any problems during operation.

Portability

This machine is pretty light, compact and durable. It weighs 4.41 lbs which makes it more portable and operable on the laps.

We all agree that a laptop with 13.30 x 9.50 x 0.80 inches can perfectly fit in small, medium or large backpacks -something that makes it ideal for travelling.

Something else…

You can use this machine for about 8 hours when fully charged so forget about the hourly battery warning that you might have faced before.

Display

Moving to display, this machine has got an incredible touch. The 14 inches screen size and 1366 x 768 pixels screen resolution can be very low compared to other Ubuntu laptops listed in this review, but it is up to the task considering that it is powered by Intel UHD video card that has a shared memory.

Other Consideration

The design of Dell Inspiron is quite eye-catching and stunning and talking of connectivity, there are 3 USB ports, one HDMI port, a card reader slot, an Ethernet connectivity port and a combination of mic and audio jack.

It comes with Windows 10 pre-installed. But don’t worry about a thing as you can get Ubuntu installed on it too.

Bottom Line

Performancewise, Dell Inspiron will perfectly host Ubuntu without lags in performance and thanks to its 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G4 Processor.

Portability

Once fully charged, you can pack your Motile for a 10 hours work far from your office. Performance

This Apple 16” MacBook Pro comes with a speed that you’d require from a MacBook, 2.3GHz and a turbo boost up to 4.8GHz bringing on a whole new class of performance.

It is shipped with an advanced thermal design Intel Core i9 processor containing 8 Cores and 16 threads for longer performance periods.

Additionally, this premium machine has a 64GB RAM which ensures untroubled multitasking and that you don’t run into problems when rendering your 3D Models. We can’t emphasize much on the massive storage that you’ll have at your disposal, 4TB SSD.

Portability

We all agree that MacBooks are generally portable and for this, despite weighing a hefty 8.45 lbs, you probably won’t feel any weight on your back or laps. We liked the fact that you can bring it with you anywhere you go for out of office work and use it for 11 hours.

Display

Hold on for a moment, one of the finest displays comes with Apple 16” MacBook Pro. We are saying so because it supports two 6K displays. It is one of the powerful notebooks ever to be made as it has an immersive 16 inches retina display.

Running on 4096 x 2160 pixels, its screen generates 500 nits of brightness for spectacular visuals thanks to the presence of liquid crystal molecules. More work was done on the display and further added a P3 Wide Color gamut so you get true-life images in the best possible light.

Another amazing thing is that it comes with an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M graphics card for faster rendering and UHD videos. Wo loved this feature as it allows you to work on graphics-intensive assignments seamlessly.

Other Consideration

Apple 16” MacBook Pro is shipped with a T2 security chip for maximum security over access to your files. The T2 security chip includes a secure enclave which provides the foundation for secure boot and encrypted storage.

Another thing we liked about this laptop is the availability of the most powerful and versatile port -Thunderbolt 3. This port integrates charging, data transfer, and video output in a single connector.

The keyboard keys are well spaced and the touchpad well centered for efficiency.
