Cheap Laptops Under $100 Reviews
1. RCA Viking Pro
“Travel friendly laptop”
RCA Viking Pro made it to the top of our cheap laptops under 100 dollar list. The RCA Viking Pro offers a better way to use and transport your laptop, thanks to the detachable keyboard. It’s quite simple to use, and it offers you great features from the Play Store. The memory is within an agreeable range, too, and you have an option to expand it.
The processor has four cores on it, and they achieve a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. That’s is not bad for a laptop in this price range, and you can get most of your work done. However, you will need to deal with one thing at a time since the laptop doesn’t meet the high-end standards yet.
The RAM in-store is a DDR with 1 GB space. If you are using it for light tasks, there should be no problem loading the programs. The RCA6303W87DK model also hosts 32 GB worth of disk memory for the files you want to keep. Since there is an SD Card slot, you can expand the storage as you wish.
The ability to detach the keyboard and use it in tablet mode extends the portability aspect here. The hinge also rotates to 360 degrees, allowing you to put in any position that agrees to comfortable use. You will find it large on your hands, though, while it’s in tablet mode.
The pink laptop has a maximum battery life of 6 hours. That is enough time to browse, watch, and perform a few tasks while on the keyboard. If you are in tablet mode, it’s bound to stay longer. When charging, it’s advisable to stick to the original charger for the battery’s longevity sake.
The 10-inch screen on the Viking Pro seems large while in tablet mode than when you are using it as a full laptop. There are thick bezels around the screen, with one of the sides hosting the front camera. We feel that there should be more room for the screen, meaning it could have been bigger.
There are no glaring effects, though, and the Intel HD graphics does a better rendering job. Since it’s an Android laptop, you have a chance to play around with themes to see which one suits your view on the 1280 x 800-pixel space.
There are several ports that you can use on this little machine. One of them is the mini HDMI, and there is a micro USB too. The rest is a headphone and microphone jack ports and the power input. The rear and front webcams have 2MP and 1MP respectively for your photos and video calls.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop is compatible with most applications, but there may be a need to upgrade it. Since it’s a laptop with large memory space, you can push it to 7.0 Naught with no performance problems.
If you want a laptop that can help you move with ease, then the RCA Viking pro will be a good choice. You can connect to the Google Play Store for any apps you need, and it has good battery life. You may want to upgrade the OS later as you use it, though.
2. RCA 11 Delta Pro
“Bigger screen and keyboard space”
- VERSATILE: Get the best of both worlds...
- SPEED: 1.3GHz 4 Quad-Core Processor....
- BUILT-IN: 2GB RAM, 32GB Flash Storage...
- FOR WORK OR PLAY: Stay efficient with...
- INCLUDES: Free travel keyboard and AC...
The Delta Pro version is more robust than the Viking Pro above, but you may have to deal with huge power use. There are a wider screen and a comfortable keyboard due to the size. The keyboard is also detachable to make it more portable.
The speed from the RCA11 Delta Pro is the same as the Viking above. It’s still a quad-core with 1.3 GHz of frequency. That suits most tasks, but you don’t want to overload the Android laptop with tasks again. However, there is a larger main memory since the Delta packs an extra GB to make it 2GB.
The room for your files and applications is also 32 GB, and there is an SD slot for expansion. It accepts up to 32 GB, too, and you have an option of using the extra storage as separate or as an extension of the tablet’s memory.
It has a detachable keyboard, too, and that’s okay when you want to shed off the extra weight. Whether on a tablet or as a full laptop, there is more weight than in the predecessor. The difference is not much, though, since the Delta adds ½ a pound only. Since it has a larger screen, it also means you will get a larger keyboard.
If you are typing more, then the size will suit you. The laptop consumes more power due to a higher-end OS, which brings in more functions and capabilities. At maximum, you get about 5 hours, although the manufacturer promises six hours or more. How you use it will determine how long it will take before the next recharge. RCA 11 Delta Pro is a no brainer if considering the cheap laptops under $100.
There are 11.6 inches of space on the screen, and it’s also surrounded by extra thick pixels. It can be correct to guess that it’s an RCA thing. They may make the screen appear smaller while on a laptop. In tablet mode, however, the thick bezels help in holding as you use it.
There are more pixels, too, and this one reaches the 1366 x 768 specification. It may not bring the best, depending on what you are doing. On the other hand, the experience is great regardless of whether you are typing for long hours or just watching.
There is a full USB port for the USB flash drives and anything else that requires a USB-A connection. The rest of the ports are micro SD and micro USB. Since the audio is not the best due to only one speaker presence, you can use the headphone jack. You can also take advantage of Bluetooth, which is present in all Androids nowadays.
According to the manufacturer, it’s not okay to use the laptop in tablet mode while it’s charging. It may create a short circuit on the motherboard due to more power draw than required while charging normally. While it’s something many would disregard, it’s much better when you take precautions.
The RCA11 Delta version also offers you portability and comfortable use. It can also pack extra storage, which’s better for those who need more files on the device. The only issue is that it’s a beast due to Android 9.0 presence requiring more power to run it. It’s also advisable to leave it while charging and use it when the battery is full.
3. RCA Galileo Pro
“Fits everyday light use”
- VERSATILE: Get the best of both worlds...
- SPEED: 1.3GHz 4 Quad-Core Processor....
- BUILT-IN: 32GB Flash Storage Memory...
- FOR WORK OR PLAY: Stay efficient with...
The Galileo Pro 2-in-1 laptop is another one from the RCA, and it has a lower Android version than the predecessor above. It’s also detachable and has the same memory space as the rest. It has a smaller screen, though, which you may not detect unless you use the one above first.
RCA equipped this laptop with a four-core processor, and it’s also 1.3 GHz. What makes it a bit slower is the 1 GB RAM in use, but a few tasks will not overwhelm the laptop. The sizing also suits the Android 6.0 Marshmallow until you decide to upgrade.
There is 32 GB storage for the internal, and you can also expand that via the SD slot. It permits up to 128 GB without any issues, which is a plus here. If you are using it for school work and other light tasks, the expansion can permit more.
The RCT6513W87DK5E model also comes with a detachable keyboard. As a whole laptop, this one packs 3.67 pounds, and that makes it the heaviest RCA laptop in our review. So, even detaching the keyboard will not make the tablet less heavy than the above comrades.
It’s also another RCA that promises 6 hours of battery life. That is more than ample time needed to work and stare at the small screen before the laptop demands more juice. With this model, there is no problem using it as you charge. The port is sturdy, but you have to position it properly.
At 11.5 inches, it’s an inch smaller than the Delta mode, and the resolution is also lower. There is still a better view from the 1024 x 600 pixels for anything you will be doing, whether watching or taking a few notes. The integrated graphics card also works fine for light browsing and watching tasks.
The bezels are also thick as usual, hosting both front and rear webcams. It’s quick to respond on the touchpad, but it does not have the two left and right-click buttons. The functionality is there, but you have to press the touchpad edges for the response.
There is Android 6.0 inside, and you can upgrade it to 8.0 Go Edition or Oreo. The laptop will, however, be slower since the RAM is not that generous. If you need connecting other peripherals, there is a full USB and micro USB for that. There are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless and internet connectivity, respectively.
The keyboard area is quite okay, but you may find it difficult to type since it’s not on the chassis level. More ports include the microphone and headphones jacks, and the power input. One more thing, if you want to rotate the tablet, it’s not possible. If you need it facing the other side, you have to detach it, turn, and then attach.
The RCA Galileo model is another device that will enable you to work anywhere. It’s quite heavy compared to the rest, but there is the ability to detach the keyboard. The admirable thing is that it can accommodate more storage than the internal.
4. Samsung Chromebook Exynos
“Suitable for the Chrome OS beginner”
- 0.3MP Webcam & Microphone,Integrated...
- 11.6" backlit LED HD Display, 1366 x 768...
- 16GB eMMC Flash Hard drive, 3W Stereo...
- Samsung Exynos 5 Dual-Core 1.7GHz...
- WirelessLAN: 802.11 a/b/g/n, Card reader
Samsung has made a name for itself in the mobile devices category. If you want a cheap laptop from the company, then here is the Chromebook Exynos. The name tells you that it comes with Chrome OS, which gives you a chance to switch from Windows even on a low budget.
We have been used to four cores on the processor in the last reviews. For the Samsung laptop, it’s a dual-core with 1.7 GHz on the clock speed. There are fewer cores, of course, but they achieve a higher frequency, which is vital for most apps that will depend on the internet. The CPU uses 2GB RAM to load things from the hard disk.
That is quite okay for the price range, but the storage is way too low. You only get 16 GB memory space, which you will want to upgrade as soon as the laptop arrives. It’s a fast one, though, since it’s an eMMC type. If you want to expand the storage, there is an opening at the back for an SD slot.
There is no way to detach the screen here since the XE303c12 model is not even touch-enabled. That means you have to deal with the two-pound weight every time you are on the move. That’s not too heavy, though, if you need to move. The laptop is made of plastic, and that contributes to the less weight nonetheless.
You might not have much time to perform your tasks if you forgot your charger. You can, however, continue to use a full battery for about four hours. If you are on the internet accessing the Google Drive mails and other G-Suite features, you may get less than three hours.
Samsung used an LED HD display on the screen, and it’s 11.6 inches. The 1366 x 768-pixel resolution fits the size here, and there is no problem viewing what the screen outputs. The bezels on the screen are equally thick, with the top part hosting the webcam while the lower part has the SAMSUNG logo.
The webcam may not suit you much since it’s only 0.3 MP, but it does the job when it’s time to use Hangouts, among other video calling apps. It’s quite a small laptop, and that explains why the graphics card is Intel but integrated.
All the essential ports and slots are at the back of the laptop. For those who need to use an external mouse, the connecting Nano or cable will go behind the laptop. There is a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 there for that purpose. Outputting to a second screen is also possible here due to the presence of the HDMI port.
Due to the laptop’s cheap design, you may find it prone to scratches and breaks, although that cannot affect the functionality much. That calls for extra care as you continue to use it.
The Samsung Chromebook Exynos model suits those who need a laptop to access files on the internet. It’s Chrome OS here, and you can store things offline, but it’s equipped with every Google application that requires an internet connection. Much care is needed if you want the laptop to serve you longer.
5. Acer Chromebook C720
“cheap laptop under 100”
- Intel Celeron 2955U 1.4 GHz (2 MB Cache)
- 2 GB DDR3L SDRAM
- 32 GB Solid-State Drive
- 12-Inch Screen (NOT touch screen), Intel...
- Chrome, 8.5-hour battery life
If you want an affordable laptop that will help you browse, consider the Acer C720 Chromebook. It’s one of the cheap laptops under 100 that is quite fast while online thanks to the dual Wi-Fi connection capability. It also has a few ports that you can utilize, especially if you want to connect external storage.
Intel Celeron rules here, and it’s a 2995U that achieves 1.4 GHz. We cannot complain about that unless you want to compare it with the $500 laptops. It works with 2GB RAM in the DDR3 category, and that explains the fastness. What you may want more is the storage capacity if you are working with offline files.
There are only 32 GB here, but it’s an SSD, making the Acer Chromebook faster. For more storage, you will have to utilize the SD slot or have an external disk connected to one of the USB-A ports.
At 2.76 pounds, it’s quite a simple laptop to carry, although it’s heavier than some of the two-pound machines we have already reviewed. The chassis is all plastic, and that sheds off the extra weight. However, you have no way to detach the screen, but it’s not one of the biggest to make the laptop buggy.
It also has a decent battery life, but that depends on how you are using it. While playing games is a no on this Chromebook, using it for Netflix or YouTube will give you 3-5 hours. If you are just working on it and browsing, that is when you get near the 8.5-hour mark. That means it’s a good option to carry and use in places with inadequate power sockets.
The screen is an LED with a backlit display. You may view some dark areas on the screen, but that depends on the lid’s angle. The 11.6-inch screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768, within the acceptable range in cheap laptop alternatives. The bezels are thick and quite reflective due to the shiny aspect.
The glow does not affect the viewing, though. The graphics card in play is the Intel HD, which makes it unsuitable for gaming if you are a gamer. Since it’s a Chromebook with most apps depending on the internet, the graphics card will perform well.
There is one USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 for the peripherals with such connections. More include the HDMI, which is full-sized, an SD slot, and the headphone/microphone combo jack. It also has Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connections with capable devices and a webcam too that you can use while on Hangouts.
You cannot install MS Office on this laptop, but it allows you to use the online version. Otherwise, there is Google Docs for your writing, and it also allows you to download the document in MS Word. One more thing, purchasing the C720-2848 model means getting 100 GB of Google Drive storage, which will be free for the next two years.
The Acer Chromebook works well with those who work online most of the time. That also implies most of the files will be online. If you are used to Windows with most things done offline, there will be a hard time here. Overall, it’s a laptop that can serve you for years if properly maintained.

- 【Built-in WIFI&Bluetooth&I/O...
Most of the school work nowadays requires you to have a laptop a least. If you study at home and need a proper laptop for intensive reading, then welcome to the HBESTORE Portable Windows 10 laptop option. It’s a brand you may have never heard of, but it has everything you need to commence the learning.
It’s a small laptop that can increase the processor frequency depending on the task at hand. The Atom X5-Z8350 CPU has a base clock speed of 1.4 GHz and a maximum of 1.92 GHz. Since it’s suited for office work and learning, that’s an adequate frequency to allow for smooth sailing.
It also has 2GB RAM in the DDR3 category to load things from the hard disk and back. The storage is agreeable and needing more, but we can excuse it due to the pricing. It has 32 GB eMMC storage, making it quite fast when loading the OS and other packages.
According to the manufacturer, the laptop weighs 0.95 kg, but it’s heavier. It’s about 1.4 kg or 3.23 pounds, but that does not make it too heavy. It’s within the cheap laptops range that you can carry from one point to another. Due to the white color, extra care will be necessary. That is why a laptop pouch is included in the package.
While we may not know about the battery life, it will serve for a few hours before connecting it to a power source.
The 10.1-inch screen seems smaller, but the display is quite clear. The 1280 x 800-pixel resolution suits the size, and that’s why there is minimal blurriness as you load MS Office or the One Drive, among other apps. You may find it difficult to use the keyboard, which appears to occupy the same length as the screen space.
The HBESTORE is also another laptop with quite thick bezels. The top part hosts a 1.3 MP camera for Skype and other video conversations. For the graphics end, it’s Intel HD, and it’s okay for simple learning tasks.
For wireless connections to the stereo or your phone, there is Bluetooth 4.0 for that. There is also the 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi specification for the internet, and that what you will use since there is no Ethernet port. If you have an RJ45 to USB converter, it will still work here.
The ports and slots on the laptop include HDMI, USB 3.0 and 2.0, TF Card slot, and the power input. What you need to note about this laptop is that it may not be durable as expected. You may also get one with a Chinese or Japanese version, but Windows is in English. The bright side is that it comes with a protective casing as one of the accessories.
The HBESTORE model suits those who need a cheap laptop alternative for learning and simple office tasks. It doesn’t have much storage, although that is expandable via the SD Card. With Windows 10 on it, most of your tasks will be sorted out.

More Android-based laptops include the Simbans TangoTab that offers you a way to use the OS on a full laptop. It’s a 2-in-1, meaning you can detach the keyboard if you want to use the tablet alone. It also comes pre-loaded with apps, and that includes some from the Microsoft package.
It’s a laptop with a processor that also works on Android phones. It’s the Media Tek, and the 8168 quad-core type has a speed of 2.0 GHz. That’s not bad for anything you will be loading even when you are multi-tasking. The RAM is in excess here since you get 4 GB. That is why it’s easy to load a few apps at once without any delays.
Being a tablet and laptop simultaneously, we can say that the storage is generous too. There is 64 GB of memory space for all your apps and files. Being an Android also means you have access to your Google Drive for online storage.
The TangoTab is only 1.1 pounds, and that is a weight that you cannot complain about. It’s also one of the small gadgets with a detachable keyboard. So, you can opt to leave the keyboard if you are comfortable with using the tablet only. Since it’s also small, fitting it in tight spaces in your bag is not a problem.
You get five hours from the laptop before charging it fully. There is no problem using this model as it charges, unlike what we have witnessed in some Android models. If you are watching or typing, it’s possible to view finish up without recharging if you activate the battery saver.
The 10.1-inch screen has thick bezels all around, which is expected from the Androids. However, it has a good resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and that suits the size. There is nothing blurry, and all colors are brought on board. However, you may find it hard to type on the keyboard area if you are working on a long project.
The Mali-G52 MC1 graphics chip renders everything you see on the screen. It also suits light gaming, which means you will enjoy Candy Crush and other famous Android games. It’s also good to note that the screen comes with a protective layer.
Some of the Simbans laptops come with Android 6.0 or 7.0. The operating system is, however, upgradable up to version 10 without any problems. Anything you need to add to it comes from Google Play or third-party compatible applications. Otherwise, you can enjoy the installed ones starting with MS Word, Excel, and WPS Office.
For the ports, there is a mini HDMI for connecting to a larger screen. If you want to connect USB-based peripherals, there is a full USB-A 2.0 and a micro USB. The SD card slot on the tablet allows up to 256 GB of memory expansion. One of the flaws you may experience here is the keyboard failing to detach on the tablet.
Lastly, if you need a laptop that you can use for navigation, there is an inbuilt GPS receiver on this model.
The inclusion of GPS on this laptop will help you if you are traveling. The Simbans TangoTab also has vital applications that you can use daily. However, you need to take care of the keyboard if you want it to serve you longer. Due to the size, you will struggle to type fast if you are working on a long project.

If you want a laptop that fits everyday regular use, the Goldengulf suits that description. It’s simple and small, not to mention it comes in a variety of colors. There are a few ports to utilize, too, and it’s not heavy if you are on the move. The storage also allows you to carry your entertainment and a few books to read.
Considerable speeds come from the Intel Z8350 processor since it can reach a maximum of 1.96 GHz. That is enough to load a few videos, browse and type small messages. Working on a long document will still suit you as long the computer is not overloaded.
The CPU works with a 2 GB DDR3 RAM for anything you need to load from the 32 GB eMMC hard disk. You may want to expand the storage via the SD Card slot that permits up to 256 GB. The good thing is that eMMC types are as fast as the SSD counterparts.
At 2.43 pounds and small size, this is a laptop that you can take anywhere with you. It will fit in the smallest places, and it’s comfortable to use while traveling since it does not need all the space. You may need a casing, though, if you have the blue-colored Goldengulf or any of the bright ones.
You may not do much with it due to the size and specs. However, it will allow you to watch a movie for the next 4-5 hours before a recharge. If you are only browsing and without any streaming, it’s bound to go for longer.
The Windows 10 laptop has a 10.1-inch screen with 1280 x 800 pixels. The sizing seems small to the eyes, but the color clarity is brought to details by the packed pixels. There is also a webcam at the top for any pictures, videos, or video calls that you will be making.
You get an integrated graphics card here, and it will perform well for the pictures, clips, and any programs you can load. The Windows OS is fully featured, which means you will get a visual of every compatible program. The screen has a wide viewing angle too.
There is an SD slot for the memory expansion wants. Other laptop ports include USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, micro HDMI, and the headphone microphone jack. Connecting to Wi-Fi is via the 802.11 b/g/n chip, and there is no problem if you are close to a source.
The keyboard is full-sized without the Numpad, though. While it may not offer the best experience for typing long documents, it gets the work done in most parts. It’s also a laptop that supports several languages. In the package, there is also an external mouse to use in case the touchpad becomes problematic.
The Goldengulf suits those who need a laptop that can store a few files and also enable you to reach the internet, among other simple tasks. If you are watching and listen to music, the headphone will come in handy. The speakers are not quite audible.
“Perfect for the kids”
The IDOL laptop fits the kids who are now at home, and they need to learn despite the pandemic. Starting to educate them with this option will not be a bad move. It’s a cheap laptop with all the features you need from a fully functional Windows. So, it will load all the school files needed and also entertain.
You will be working with a 1.44 GHz speed from the Intel Atom processor. The RAM in store is 2GB, and it will fit everyday use and surfing, but playing games will be a struggle. The kids are playful, which means you can only install simple games and applications. The storage offers only 32 GB with room for expansion via the TF card slot.
It permits up to 128 GB. If you need to store most of the school work and entertainment here, then the expansion will be necessary.
The IDOL is quite heavy at 2.82 pounds, but kids can handle anything below three pounds with ease. If you are using it too once in a while, then a protective casing will become essential. Otherwise, bright colors are prone to scratches and collecting dirt.
It will stay on for the next four to six hours before requiring a recharge. That is enough time for a kid to play and read without picking the laptop charger. Heavier use will decrease the time, though, and this is not a laptop to subject to larger tasks.
Just like the model above, the IDOL also has a 10.1-inch screen. The view is also clear despite the small screen with thick bezels. There are 1280 x 800 pixels on the screen for any videos or loading files. In the case of a video chat, there is also a webcam at the top.
The graphics card is integrated here, and that is why this laptop fits the small tasks. Watching and reading will not be a problem, but any demanding games may need a more capable laptop.
The few connection ports include USB 2.0 and 3.0, a headphone jack for better sounds, micro HDMI for a larger screen, and the TF slot for the SD Card. The IDOL has Windows 10, and that will work with most of the I/O.
Other capabilities include a Wi-Fi connection, and it also has Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connection to the stereo and other compatible devices. The keys are quite sticky when you type, but that is a defect that you can solve by using an external keyboard.
If you want a laptop that kids will use while coping with the pandemic, the IDOl will offer them a good start. It can load the essential programs, and you can also use it for browsing when the kids are playing elsewhere.

GOWIN presents you with the last option for the cheap laptops, but it doesn’t appear cheap considering what it comes with. Apart from having the latest Android OS, there is also a stylus and wireless mouse. You will also enjoy using the keyboard at a distance since it also has wireless capability.
The processor is what you will see in most Android devices. It’s not the powerful Snapdragon, though, as GOWIN decided to use Media Tek. The MTK6580 CPU, however, delivers a 1.5 GHz frequency, and that makes it quite a fast machine for everyday tasks. The 4 GB RAM supports anything you need to load fast, and that is one of the areas that the tablet scores.
The internal storage space shoots to 64 GB, and that’s considerably great, especially when coming from the Android end. If you would like to expand, the TF slot permit is up to 128 GB, and that gives you all the space you need for the programs and files.
It’s slightly close to three pounds, and that’s not expected from a 10.1-inch laptop. Since you can detach the keyboard, it greatly reduces the weight as you deal with the tablet only. Having a wireless keyboard increases portability since it allows you to place the screen further.
The wireless detection works within a 10-meter radius. Minimal to the average use of the laptop will give you about 8 hours. According to the manufacturer, talk time can go for up to 18 hours, while audio playback can go for the next 12 hours after a full charge. There is no fast charging capability, though, meaning you have to wait for about three hours for a full charge.
If you want an Android laptop with visuals that compete with Samsung, then GOWIN is the tablet to look for. The 10.1-inch screen is built to deliver the best quality no matter what you are doing. The display is an IPS type, and it rocks 1920 x 1200 pixels. That’s the highest we have witnessed in our cheap laptops review. Therefore, everything is clear and crisp, regardless of the day time.
If you are using it in the dark, the reading light helps your eyes to stay comfortable as you work through it. Since it’s touch-enabled, you have the power to use your hands or the included stylus pen. The touchpad is also one of the smallest, and that is why GOWIN included a wireless mouse in the package.
This is the only laptop that comes with LTE capability. That tells you that you can use a SIM Card here, and there are two slots for that. There is also USB-C for fast connections and charging. All the essential ports are packed in one area, but there are indications on what to put where.
There is also the TF Card slot for memory expansion. The front and back webcams are 5MP and 8MP, respectively. Therefore, the pictures and videos will have a better quality when it’s time to take them. There is a casing for the tablet and keyboard for better carrying. It also acts as a stand. More addition to the accessories includes an OTG cable.
GOWIN provides you with a cheap laptop using the latest updates. The OS is Android 9.0, and it has one of the best resolutions. The accessories make your job and overall use easier. It’s also an ideal travel companion due to a datable keyboard with wireless capability.
